I should try making it.
Window-shopped in Dataran Pahlawan. Checked out the clothes in F.O.S (according to Damien, full of shit), mommy saw this top and asked me a funny question.
Mood was rather sombre in Grandpa's place, his 2nd eldest brother passed away the day before. Attended the funeral after dinner.
I found it strange, a discombobulation of feeling grave and cheerful. Why is it that we don't see distant relatives (those whom you have never seen for, say, a decade? Or even those you've never met) during happy occassions like a marriage ceremony or Chinese New Year? But they pop up like Jacks-in-boxes during a funeral.
And they live so near each other. If I run from Grandpa's place to their house, it'll only take me half a minute. It's just across the road.
Mommy's cousins, they couldn't recognise each other, haven't seen each other for 10 or 20 years. Suddenly there was a joyful reunion during a funeral.
The age gap, I sometimes think it's ludicrous. The minimum age gap between my paternal cousins and I is 14 years, me being the younger one. On mommy's side, the maximum goes up to 18 years, me being the older.
Anyway, I enjoyed being the spotlight during the funeral. People love to say, "Oh so big already!!" and mostly "Oh wah so tall!! Only 18?!".
Happy 18th Birthday to WaiYan
