Back to Books, Fanfictions and Childish Story Writing

Whilst I was preparing for my Finals, I refrained myself from reading fictions and writing.

Exclude writing in my blog (I call this blogging, not writing).

After the I broke free from the clutches of the Finals, the thought to continue my daily diet protruded.

All right, I have to admit that on the first Friday of the Finals' week I went to the library and read Amy Tan's 'The Joy Luck Club' after school.

See?? It's like asking me to stop breathing (thankfully I didn't suffocate because of my fictionless and no-writing week).

Yesterday night, I took out the new book I bought from Scholastic, 'Shakespeare's Spy'. I haven't read it and was dying to immerse myself in the delicious story.

I finished 2 short stories before the exams. I read my first masterpiece (yaya, I know it's terrible) again. After I finished...

"Like... oh my gosh!! Was it I who wrote this?? It's so CHILDISH!!"

Ohhhh... I hate myself more.

And I read my 2nd stupid little story.

"*slaps forehead* *toot*" (pardon the language used)

I just loathe myself.

Recently, I developed a fondness towards operatic music. Believe or not I'm typing this out and listening to "The Marriage of Figaro".

Before that, I was listening to "Ave Maria" and "Nessun Dorma".

Dad told me about Pavarotti when I was very very young. It's a pity he died before I can listen to him sing in person. I listened to the tenor sang in CDs and I asked, "What language is he singing in?"

"Latin, I guess."

"Sounds more Italian to me."

"Latin and Italian are almost the same. Dante developed the Italian language from Latin."

"Did he?? He's a poet, not a language professor. And 'Inferno' was written in Latin."

"William Shakespeare's not a language professor, but he created a lot of English words from Latin too."

"..."

Don't argue with your parents, kids.

They eat salt more than we eat rice, as they always say.

Then perhaps, if you dare (which I don't encourage you to act like a hero), say, "No wonder you smell like seawater..."
