Due to my title, you might think of the nude squating case that happened some time ago (dirty minds you people have). But...... You're so so so so wrong. It's about a case that happened in my school TODAY (not exactly a 'case', an event? I don't know the right word for it).
Somehow, our so called 'kiasu' (it's in hokkien, in english it means, afraid of losing) headmaster, invited a Maths pro (aka the best Maths teacher and scholar in Malaysia) to give us Form 3s a talk on scoring A for Maths in PMR. We were so excited hearing this (Maths, one of my favorite subject; No need to stay for Geography lesson!!!) because, who don't want to score A for this subject? But then, I was shocked when the discipline teacher told us to bring our chairs down to the HALL. I would rather sit on the floor, we have WOODEN chairs in our class, not the light plastic chairs.
So, we took those heavy things down to the hall. This was our first time bringing a heavy thing down, we don't know where are our positions to line-up, we don't know how to manage the heavy thing. Consequently, the hall was messy. As a result, the discipline teacher was angry. And when he's angry, you know the ending...... (To be simple, look at the equation below)
First time + Heavy chairs = Don't know the positions + Don't know how to manage chairs
Don't know the positions + Don't know how to manage chairs = Messy hall
Messy hall = Angry discipline teacher = Punishment
The discipline teacher decided to punish all of us, 50 times squating holding a chair above our heads (just a reminder : WOODEN chairs). As for the guys, 3 canes behind (you know what I mean).
Raising the chair above your head and squating is torturing, especially with WOODEN chairs. The teachers went to I-don't-care-how-you-feel discipline teacher, explaining that this was our first time carrying chairs down, and he didn't give us any further notice on where should we line-up. But, he refused to listen.
I had a bit of gastric at that time, and it's getting more and more painful, how in the world am I going to do that? The pain forced tears out of my eyes and a friend of mine, who's a prefect went to take me out of the hall. We're not in a good mood to listen to any Maths talk, some cried, some criticize the discipline teacher, some sleep, some talk......
I really wonder what right do they have to punish us holding chairs above our heads doing squating? I wonder does the caning in the hall count as public caning?
To me it's humiliating us and abuse. I had the feeling of sueing him, but, which student dare go against a DISCIPLINE teacher?
Sadly,
Cherylina
