Chinese New Year Celebration Boredom

I heard the Chinese Society in school did quite a good job in the CNY Celebration for the past years (I HEARD, didn't see for myself of course), the teachers love this time of year, the students too. This time, I went to the celebration, my first time (Such a shame, don't you think? I've been studying there since 2004, and this is my first time......). Halfly because most of my friends were going, halfly because I wanted to see for myself (I don't think a few teens can make a success......).

I reached there 15 minutes before the show starts, guess what I heard?

FREAKIN'

DAMN

LOUD

DRUM BEATS

Not just any drum beats (I can deal with jazz drums, but not this......), CHINESE drum and gong. My poor eardrums...... The only thing I can do is to quickly get into the hall and 'comfort' my eardrums, what made me shout was ---- 'TRAFFIC JAM'?!?! At this hour?! Of all the roads like Jln Yap Kwan Seng and Jln Loke Yew, why does it have to occur here?!

After the long human 'traffic jam', I finally got into the hall, sweating like hell. Damn the school, they should have installed air-conditioners here. Not complaining about the condition during assembly (Imagine someone in front of you, suddenly collapsed and he's/she's not little Tinker Bell, he's/she's big DUMBO!!!!), but with more than 500 people in the hall......

Screw the school rules, can't we wear sleeveless top and slippers, not prefect-like-sleeves top and sport shoes? 500 more organisms and NO AIR-CON!!!!! Think logically people!

Finally, the show started.

Are my eardrums damaged by the loud drums or is the 40 people choir softer than a Casio keyboard? I need to see a doctor after this......

You watched the chinese movie 'Fearless'? The story about a guy who fought for his country's independence? There's another story behind this one, rewrote by out school's Chinese Society. Heard about Huo Yuen Yuen before? Sorry, I never knew anything about her. After watching the Chinese Society's drama about Huo Yuen Yuen, I scratched my head and turned to Chloe, who's sitting beside me, and asked, "What did they just did?" Guess what response I got? "I don't know......" Heck, what kind of drama is that? What has it to do with the reunion dinner? I hate serious dramas......

There's one more thing I need to question the Chinese Society, what's with the Korean Dance? In chinese it was called 'Han Guo Gong Ting Wu', 'Gong Ting' means palace in english, suppose the dance was to perform to the emperor, right? If you're the one watching the dance, and you're the emperor, you would feel like beheading all of them. Trust me, I felt that too......

Then there's the Chinese Martial Arts Society, 'impressing' us with their cool moves. I was so 'impressed'...... So impressed with the way the bored me.

I had to leave early because I had to attend church the next day. I thought it was burning hot outside, since the temperature inside the hall was DAMN HOT. It was freezing cold out there. Thank God dad came early.

Who said the annual CNY Celebration was nice? Who?! I'm not coming the next time...... No, there's never a next time......
