Karaoke-ing With a Freshly Recuperated Throat

Unless you're like me, who doesn't give a damn about getting ill after Chinese New Year and Orientation Ball, feel free to try the afore mentioned activity.

Most probably, you'll end up sounding like a chicken.

A picture I took last month back in SMKTC. This poor dinner dish was found tied to the barriers of the Form 6 block, which was still under construction.

We were all arguing about its gender. Pn. Lim came out saying, "Children... it's a rooster." Then we went into some serious discussion about the probability that the chicken is a hermaphrodite. Its crown is too small as to being dismissable; it has feminine eyes; the colour of its feathers etc.

A bunch of city kids who couldn't differentiate roosters and hens.

Poor mom lying on the bed. Immobile. Lots of tubes going in and out of her body. Looking haggard with sallow skin and droopy eyes.

Anyway she's better now. She looks younger than me and slimmer than me now that the 2 huge meatballs are out of her womb.

Oh, my maternal grandma is rushing up to KL this coming Saturday. Apparently, she literally jumped when she heard the news (she was informed of the incident after mom was out of the hospital, my smart aunts and mom hid it from her).

One of the many gifts mom received when she was in the hospital.

Beautiful, blood red, fat, juicy, delectable, succulent and scrumptious Korean strawberries. Sweet and sour all in one bite. Yummy.

Meal yang paling amat ter-worth-it in Pavilion's Food Republic. It's Thai style fried rice with a fried egg, roasted chicken, 2 cold vegetable dishes and a bowl of tasty tomyam soup.

For RM 7.90 only, and they didn't charge us any taxes.

Or, if you love the spice of India, come to Annalakshmi in Brickfields. There are only vegetarian dishes, mostly spicy, of course. So far, the best authentic Indian food I've tried.

I love their payasam and mango lassi (a must for everyone even if you have lactose intolerance). They operate on a pay-as-you-wish basis. Eat as much as you want and pay any amount you like, the money goes to charity anyway.

So... be kind hearted. Please don't eat without paying.

Floyd's sweet victory, represented by his prize -- J. Co donuts.

This picture teaches us not to bet on things. Betting is like gambling, it's not good, you'll lose money. You have been warned.

Also, it's always best to be a referee in a bet. You get to enjoy the sweet success too.

Sam's super chun 'China phone'. It has an antenna. Can watch TV programmes some more!

But... a little crappy la still...

Went for a karaoke session with Chieh, Theng and his university friends.

It was my 3rd karaoke session since birth, and 2nd session in Neway. I must admit I'm very outdated when it comes to Chinese and Korean songs. The machine is quite outdated when it comes to English songs.

No David Cook? No Boys Like Girls? No 'Two is Better Than One'? No 'Need You Now'?

Anyway, I expected that. It's good they have ABBA, Beatles and Elvis Presley. Dad will love it. It appeared that I actually know a number of Chinese songs (albeit their choruses only), I just didn't know the names. I'm still Chinese enough.

Theng sounded so divine when he was singing. We looked more gorgeous than the guys when it comes to camwhoring.

As Deirdre suggested, we were yowling in the karaoke room. I think we were doing so.

The Australian Education Fair held in Seri Pacific Hotel, organised by IDP, was fruitful enough. I've sent my applications to ANU, UTAS, UWA and Curtin. Hopefully I'll get UTAS.

New Zealand Education Fair tomorrow!
