The British MPs said it's a matter of national identity, because Cadbury was founded by a British, perfected by his fellow British, and landed itself on the international platform of chocolate excellence by the help of none other than the British... hence Cadbury should not be sold to Kraft.
However, Irene Rosenfeld, smart woman that she is, threw out £11.5 billion for my favourite chocolate company.
I want it to keep coming to my grave. Oh yes.
Anyway, her decision shows how determined she is to get her hands on the milky-goodness of Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate. Adding another few billion to the debt mountain of Kraft's, I wonder how Kraft's shareholders think.
To me, frankly, it doesn't matter who owns Cadbury. I'm more concerned on the quality. Doesn't it always come down to that? Quality, taste, richness.
What if Toyota makes a bid for Proton (which I seriously doubt it will)? Surely someone will make lots of noise. They'll make the cutting of employees a big fuss, a national issue. Just like what one British MP said about the takeover, the unemployment and unhappy people.
In the end, Cadbury shareholders are happy because their share price increased, albeit by a few pence. How will loyal consumers react? You'll just have to wait for me to try it's first batch after the takeover.
Do you know the world spent USD 82.5 billion on chocolate alone last year?
I have a feeling that one of Friday's Unit 3 Economics' database question will be about this issue. Since A Level is a British qualification, and British love chocolates so much although Belgium chocolate makers snicker at it.
Ok so for this Chinese New Year's reunion dinner, I'll be having it in Muar.
I'd like to go back to my parents' place for reunion dinner too in the future, even after I'm married. Every alternate year, I mean, to be fair.
It's not like after a girl marries she has to permanently leave her parents' home and never come back. The Bible did not mean it that way. I'm very sure.
It's not fair for a husband to say, "You married me, you're my wife, when I say you can't go visit your parents you better not visit them."
Screw you husbands like that.
As a wife, yes, you should honour your husband and his family. And as a husband, you should honour your wife and her family. Doesn't mean that after marriage the female loses all her liberty.
There must be mutual respect in a marriage, or else it won't work. Not in a society like this and not in a time like now.
Alright I'm ok now. I need chocolate.
