Stories from the Red Cabbage Juice

I expected school to be fun-filled for today.

And it was.

Our EST Project Competition~!!

After recess, the big show started. The Biology Lab (4S1) and the Physics Lab (4S2) were used as the competition area. The 4S3 students flooded the stairway, each of them trying to squeeze through the narrow pathway to their respective places.

Yen, Shin, Xia and I took all our materials out and arranged them on our big table. There were 3 bottles of red cabbage juice (smelt like rotten eggs), 3 limes, vinegar, salt solution, antiseptic (from the St. John's room) and soda powder.

I caught Pn. Julina's attention when she came in after judging Nuan's group's water rocket. We were nervous, but everything went smooth and she didn't question about anything when I dipped the litmus paper into the antiseptic (it didn't give a very obvious colour change).

When we poured the lime juice and vinegar into 2 cups of red cabbage juice, the juice turned bright red. The soda powder and antiseptic turned the juice into green and pale green respectively.

Then, I pulled out the Red Cabbage Paper (RCP) our group invented. I explained to her the method of making the RCP and tested it in the substances. The colour change was similar to the juices'.

She said, "This is cool."

OMG... did PN. JULINA just said that our experiment is COOL?! My dear Physics teacher, you almost made me fly...

Perhaps the teachers were biased, all of the judges went to 4S1 first. I meant, ALL. Our class was like a ghost town, cold and quiet. I took out my Physics reference book to kill time.

Just then, Pn. Choong came to our class and Xia waved her hands up and down to get her to come. Facing Pn. Choong, I grew uneasy. Guilt crept into my heart because I always day-dream and sleep during her lessons.

I did mention Biology was boring.

She liked it! She said that we can use this as an indicator in the lab. *Yipee*

Pn. Wan Zarini and Pn. Lim sat together and watched us present our experiment. The both just nodded and smiled.

Pn. Chin came in and I tried to get her attention. She went to Wen Sen's group's table first, but no one was there. When she saw me and was walking to our group, Wen Sen and his gang came back.

You guys shouldn't come back!!

She promised me that she'll come after she watched theirs. Eventually she broke her promise.

I was so frustrated that she didn't come to our group. I wanted her comments so badly. I saw her gave comments to Wen Sen's and Chloe's group and she was very particular and strict. She wanted proof and reasons.

To me, of all the judges there, hers is the one that matters the most. I'm not saying that I don't care what the other judges say, but she is well-known for her straight-forwardness and I like that in a teacher.

Ms. Lian told us to clear off our materials when we told her 4 judges came to watch our presentation. I was reluctant to do so. Ms. Ngan hasn't seen ours yet, I will not lose another judge.

She came after I called out to her several times. She and Ms. Lian smiled and laughed. I don't quite understand what lies behind that chuckle.

According to my female intuition, Nuan's group is bound to get first prize as their experiment attracted a lot of students' attention and all the judges went to see it.

Nevermind, ours was a good try.

I got one of the books I ordered from Scholastic --- "Shakespeare Spy". I shan't be able to read it until the Finals end. The Finals is burning a hole in my head.

I miss Gregory so much. It was nice of him to ask someone to apologise to me that he can't online at the present because he's preparing for his O-Levels. I think the O-Levels is over now but... he didn't online... *sob*.

Finally I can get my hands on Onimusha 3's soundtrack. After that I'm going to hunt for Dawn of Dreams.

The desire to try to drive an F1 race car ignited.I really wanna try to drive those cars, in light speed (if I can). Not only the cars are sexy (yes, they are), I think that the sensation when you're racing is exciting; Plus, the mechanics are hot~~
