Penang : Land of Un-obvious Road Signs and Food #1

...The first day...

We reached Penang!!!

The first thing to do was to search for our shelter --- dad's bank's bungalow.

We went around town until mom noticed that, we're in the outskirts.

So, dad drove around, searching for a petrol station to ask for directions.

It's bad enough we saw graveyards... and there are no sign boards!!

Finally we found a petrol station, and those locals are very friendly.

First we asked a Malay, then came a Chinese and then an Indian.

I love this Indian guy, he can speak Hokkien better than the 3 of us...

Like, fuyoh~!!

With their help, we found our way to the town centre and Macalister Road.

Our stomachs were rumbling like thunders, so we had lunch there.

Hainan chicken rice, prawn mee and porridge~

And everybody is speaking Hokkien... All I could squeeze out was, "Wa tia bo..."

After passing various schools, churches and hospitals,

After asking 10 locals for directions,
Finally we found our way to Biggs Road, where we will spend the night.

The bungalow was gargantuan, and the land was big enough for Damien to run around and go crazy.

Don't cha wanna own a house just like me??

I'm big... I'm cool~

Damien & I will share the same room~

And a big house like this gives a lot of surprises~

To the kitchen!!!

I can get food from the kitchen without being seen... cool~

After that, we went to Gurney Plaza... nothing much from MidValley actually~

After bathing, we went for dinner in Gurney Drive~

Hawker stalls galore~

I'm really gonna grow fat...

Even Damien likes it~!!

Rojak-licious~!!

The Indian guy who made the rojak appeared in Travel and Discovery channel 11~

He has a radio by his side, he cuts the food you selected following the beat of the music, and he dances when he pour the gravy to make your rojak~!!

Yummy yummy....

What the... cuttlefish?!?!?!

No way~!! I'm not eating it... take it away!!
